My Story

It all started when I began my YouTube channel, "Mish Shelly" at the age of 14 in 2015. The channel consisted of lifestyle, fashion, and beauty videos. After posting my first video "4 OOTD's Simple but Cute", I became addicted. I constantly thought about what my next video was going to be and educated myself on how to film and edit videos. I loved the whole process, from the brainstorming, to the execution, and to the final product on YouTube. Through my channel, I have gained a few sponsorships with brands and have included reviews on my channel. My first video that "blew up" was a video on, "How I Film and Edit My YOUTUBE VIDEOS!" This video gained 170,000 views and is still going up in views daily. My passion to connect with younger girls and help them fulfill their dreams of creating a YouTube Channel was what drove me the most. It was around 2018 when my channel began slowing down due to my change in passion and simply by growing up. I would love to start up my YouTube channel again one day.

Flash forward to college, it was my time to get out of my comfort zone. In High School, I was fairly quiet and stuck to building on an online community through my channel, but once I came to college I crawled out of my shell. I wanted to partake in everything and grow as a person.

In my freshman year, I was introduced to the CEO of a start-up agency by my school's career advisor. I asked this person to coffee not expecting much, but I left with so much knowledge and my first graphic design gig. This marks my first time realizing the power of making connections. My Freshman summer I interned with this startup business as a Content Creator Intern as well as State Farm as a Marketing Intern. 3 days out of the week I woke up at 5 AM to carpool with the startup team to the office that was an hour and a half away. The rest of the week I was marketing a new agent with State Farm.

Fast Forward to Today:

I am a senior student at MSU-Mankato studying Marketing and Film (graduation in December). With COVID, I am no longer on campus, but I am pursuing my studies from home in the Twin Cities. In my free time, I produce content on my own Instagram account and for businesses!
